Accept Bitcoin at your business
A practical starting point for a café, shop or other business. Choose how payments will be received before adding your business to a map.
- Choose who holds the funds. Compare a wallet you control with a payment provider. Check fees, supported payment networks, backup requirements and whether conversion to euros is available. Bitcoin.org explains the main options ↗.
- Prepare a payment workflow. Decide how staff create a payment request, verify receipt and handle a refund. BTCPay Server’s documentation ↗ describes an open-source payment system; hosting and setup still need to be arranged.
- Test before serving customers. Run a small payment through the chosen setup. Confirm the amount, network and received status in the receiving system. Document the steps for staff.
- Add accurate public details. Use BTC Map’s Add location flow ↗. Prepare the business name, address, map position, opening hours and accepted payment methods. Claim Lightning only if it works in your setup.
